In VLC, go to “… More” > Settings > Advanced > Debug logs. Tap START LOGGING. Then attempt to play a file. A log should be at Android/data/org.videolan.vlc.debug/files
There may be a “crash” file with the current timestamp that indicates the reason for the stoppage. There will be a “logcat” file with information on all actions that led to the stoppage. Copy these to a service such as Pastebin and post a link to it here.
