The page https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-gentoo.html seems to be outdated. A couple of use flags which are recommended do not exist anymore. It would be great if a developer who actually knows the effect of each use flag could update that list. I assume that simply deleting all non-existing use flags is not sufficient. Probably some new use flags which did no exist when that page was written must be added, too.
Here is a list of use flags which are not supported anymore:
- aac – Maybe replaced by faad? Supported by media-plugins/gst-plugins-meta.
- cdda – Supported by media-plugins/gst-plugins-meta.
