I have been using Kodi happily to watch video on my ODROID C2 for several months now. Last night, I hit a key or two by accident on my keyboard and the image immediately switched from 1080P to a higher resolution – about 1/4 of the screen. I was presented with a dialog box asking if I wanted to keep this resolution, and I said “No”.
However, the screen did not change. I gave up and shut off the TV. Now, when I turn on the TV (and reboot) I get audio, but no video – the screen stays black.
I have scanned the dmesg output looking for ‘edid’ and find this:
[ 1.208969] EDID Parser:
[ 1.250114] raid6: int64x8 1476 MB/s
[ 1.261065] hdmitx: edid: find IEEEOUT
[ 1.261103]
[ 1.261113] hdmitx: video: get current mode: null
[ 1.261116] hdmtix: set audio
I cannot find any setting anywhere that will allow me to explain via ssh that I’d rather have the video set to a more useful mode. Also, searching the net for references to the ‘hdmitx: video: get current mode: null turns up almost no hits. I was not able to get any hints that way.
Two questions.
1. What the heck keys did I hit – I never want to do this again…
2. How can I recover from this? I suppose I could just reflash and start over, but there must be a more elegant recovery option that that…
