VLC media player for Windows Troubleshooting • How to set A-B Loop from Command Line

Hello,

I’m running Windows 11 and VLC 3.0.21

I want to start a video from the command line but I want to set the A-B Loop to start from a specific time and end at a specific time and obviously repeat itself seamlessly. When using the A-B Loop button this works PERFECTLY but it doesn’t work as seamlessly when using the below command line parameters:

I have tried these parameters:

–start-time=100 –stop-time=102 –loop

This does work but the problem with this method is that every time the video repeats itself, it literally repeats the video as though the file itself is reloading. The repeat is not jumping to the start point and replaying it so there is like this skip and reload in the window playback.

If I use the A-B Loop button and set it manually, the repeat cycle is fluid and seamless and there are no strange window breaks between the loop.

I hope I have explained myself well.

I have looked through the documentation for the A-B loop parameters for the command line but there don’t seem to be any parameters for this button.

Any suggestions are welcome :-)
