Kodi crashes on launch – no error logs

Hello,

I have been using Kodi on my Amiko A3 sat receiver, for a couple of years now, since 2014. I know it’s an old box, but from time to time I like to use it, for my local media, stored on the internal HDD, and to watch some sat tv. Nostalgia, right ?!

As this is  an old Tv box, from time to time, (well once every 7 or 8 months, I have to reset it to factory, because the box hangs on boot. Maybe bad  ROM/RAM? No big deal, it take just about 5 minutes to import all my settings back (sat config + channels) and install Kodi again. It’s all backed up.

Well, a couple of days ago, I did the usual reset to factory, wipe data, wipe cache, and began to restore my settings. All worked like the usual, except Kodi. It installs all right, but when I press to start it, it goes to black screen, no splash logo, and exits right back out. I tried Kodi 12 (xbmc), 13 , 15, 16, each version has the same result, black screen and then exits. I’ve tried clear data and cache, still nothing. I’ve even tried SPMC , with the same result.

So my question is :  where are the error logs for Kodi, because there are none in /mnt/shell/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi.
Also, what does Kodi look for on startup, before the splash screen? Some privileges on folders? Some libraries? Ram space?

Other apk install and work fine. I just installed Mx player and Vlc, and they all work fine, start ok, and play the local media right.
The box has android kitkat and Kodi 16 was working beautifull.

I know this is old hardware, and support has ended a log tie ago.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.
