Thanks @Lotesdelere, sorry to have duplicated the problem.
I didn’t search for it because I assumed it was ‘cos I had messed up the replacement of the luac file.
I will now follow the thread you link to, but just two more questions:
1) Is there a difference between the “dot-luac” and the “dot-lua” file types?
2) Is there a difference between the required “dot-luac” file between X86 and X64 VLC versions?
