Ignore a subfolder

So far my end user experience with Kodi has been that it is a navigational nightmare to deal with.  It makes a disorganized mess of any content I try to add to it.

Which is rather frustrating given the amount of effort I’ve gone to to keep my content organized.  Kodi just wants to throw that all out the window it seems.

In order to be able to navigate the numerous CDs I’ve ripped to my server, I’ve created a CDs folder, within that is many subfolders.  For the majority of the collection, there are letter subfolders to make it easy to organize by artist/band name, instead of having all albums in a single folder making for a massive list of albums.

It seems many things would rather I create artist folders, but for the amount of artists I have a single CD of, this seems rather inefficient.  But whatever.

Anyways, I also have some folders with my CDs folder of things that I want filed separate from my main CD library.  Of course, Kodi has not a care in the world about these things, and is more than happy to just throw them into my library.

At the moment, the most disruptive folder is the Christmas music folder, a folder I only need to see the contents of maybe a month out of the year.

I’d like to simply tell Kodi to ignore this one folder, but I’m not finding any way to do that.

Please advise.
