Ability to flatten a folder hierachy quickly back and forth

I use KODI for managing files that are hard to index so I keep my files sorted into folders.  I’d like to have an option set up to flatten the folder hierarchy on the fly so I can easily find items and play a bunch of items underneath the folder easily.  I’d like to be able to turn this feature on and off like a folder view.  I don’t believe this is currently possible.  I’m not interested in creating NFO files due to the maintenance involved.  Is this possible?
