Why do paths in server database have smb://192.168…

My ISP forced me to replace my old cable TV system with a new one (no cost to me). This includes a new Ignite modem and wireless set-top boxes. The new modem uses 10.0… instead of the 192.168… that I’ve used for the local lan for 30+ years. Apparently, retaining the old address messes up some TV functionality.

For kodi, I thought all I’d have to do is edit sources.xml on my 3 TV boxes. However, looking at the database files on my Linux server, I see that the tables episode, movie, etc, contain smb://192.168…

I maybe vaguely remember having to change the paths in the server to be like that instead of sever-local paths to make the remote boxes work, but I’m not sure. The first kodi version I used was probably Isengard. I’m currently still using Nexus because my Debian distro doesn’t yet have a backport for Omega.

I searched here and found instructions for how to edit the right columns of the right tables. I’m comfortable doing that.

My question is simply if it’s possible to have server-local paths on the server, or is what I have already how it needs to be? Maybe I didn’t screw it up after all.
