Direct Sound Vs WASPI

A small problem I am having. If I have direct sound enabled, after almost an hour of watching, the Audio starts to glitch, this has been happening for as long as i remember, but a quick change from Direct Sound to WASPI, and the problem goes away, but on WASPI I have no PC control over the volume, Its just on, flat out.
Not that I know how WASPI works, but is there a way to change the volume of WASPI or is there a fix for direct sound.
I have KODI on my main office PC and run it on Various old HP SFF i5s and i7 pcs all over the house, linked by a CAT6 Wired network. Could the direct sound problem just be the old machines?
Also I am not using the multi room setup, I use Free File Sync to update Kodi in whichever room i use Kodi, making a mirrored backup of the Main Kodi.
Im not smart enough to work out the multi room system.
