Team Kodi advises users who want to consolidate a rooted Kodi and a rooted Android TV on the same box to get a reputable Android TV box which supports root access. I thought to myself, why not go for an Android PC platform? Solid x86_64 hardware, high-performance CPU to run Python code and high-performance GPU/APU to decode AV1, 64-bit APKs on x86_64 (not merely ARM)? I tried the current flagship, Bliss OS, which in addition has a Linux 6.x kernel (the most current Android OS is on kernel 5.15) and is pre-rooted with KSU (not merely Magisk).
You won’t believe what they missed: Integrated drivers for even a generic Ethernet adapter. And before you retort “so get a WiFi card”, they don’t have WiFi drivers either. Nor BT drivers. They only have a virtual USB driver for tethering an Android phone. Or perhaps (I had no time to delve into it) a VM bridge, which means you would have to run Windows or Linux as a prime OS and Bliss OS in a VM inside it. You would be probably better off just running a general Android emulator.
I don’t know what Bliss OS is good for, but I know that it is not good for a MC. Indeed it may be good for nothing.
