I would like to update Libreelec and Kodi versions on my SD card without overwriting my complete program.
I also want to put the SD card into a new pi 5 or pi 4 because my current setup has one nonworking mini HDMI and the analog out does not work either. That has always been the case. Otherwise I work around it for the past several years.
So goal is: new machine and updated versions from Libreelec 10 and Kodi 19 saving current playlists etc.
However, the only way I have ever started up a new purchased pi is to write a new SD card completely with Libreelec Card Creator etc. and then, of course I lose all my playlists etc.
(1) If I put my current SD card into the new pi 4 or pi 5 can I use terminal or something to update the versions of Libreelec and Kodi?
(2) Is it worth it to get the new pi and update or are my non working mini HDMI and analog out a problem with software and not hardware?
