Whats a normal speed for streaming a video on local network?

Hi

I have been having issues with buffering when watching movies. It’s not like it stops playing or pauses to buffer, but I can see the Dolby Vision logo show up in the middle of whatever I’m watching. It happens frequently (like every 5-10 min). For example, I can start a movie from the beginning and I will know exactly when it happens because if I restart the movie again, it happens in the exact same place in the movie every time. So I’m thinking it’s about the size of the movie and something fills up, like the cache or something.

I have tried a bunch of different cache settings (via Kodi menu) and not solving it. I did manage to get it more frequently tho, like every few seconds..

But anyway. The first thing I wanted to check is my transfer rate from my NAS to my Shield. I can see in the graph that both my HDD and internet graphs showing around 7-10mb/s when the movie is playing. This feels low to me, but maybe that’s normal. So if someone could answer this question, I would appreciate it.
It’s a 60GB mkv remux in this example. I get the same speed when streaming a video from my PC also via SMB3. So this kinda excludes my NAS being the problem.

I ran speed test and I also copied a movie from my Drive to another and get fulls speeds. So there is nothing wrong with the hard drives or the router. And this also excludes SMB v3 as being the issue unless it’s the SMB between my NAS and Shield but does not affect my NAS and my PC.
Also ran speed test on my Shield and seems fine too, but ofc that’s internet, not local network. I also tried to transfer something from my PC to the Shield and gets decent speeds, around 50-70mb/s via network drive.

Now I also excluded Kodi because I tried Nova Player on my Shield and that also have the same problem.
So maybe this isn’t exactly the correct forum for this. But I was hoping there are people here who could still help me out.

I’m thinking this has something to do with cache. I tried other movies too and get the same issue. Maybe it’s more like a connection loss or reconnect, since it doesn’t actually stop to buffer. It’s more like the TV detects a new movie with Dolby Vision and shows the logo again and again.

So.. Does anyone have any bright ideas on what the curl pit could be? Maybe It’s something in Nvidia Shield?
