I noticed that if I playback a video with 5.1 audio (no passthrough enabled) and kodi is configured for 7.1 audio output, the last two channels are sent to channels 7 and 8 rather than channels 5 and 6. is this intentional? I have a 7.1 soundbar, and in this scenario i don’t get anything in the rear speakers since 7 and 8 are side speakers.
My workaround so far is to put kodi in 5.1 output mode, and then use EAPO to upmix to the 7/8 channels. (Copy: SL=0.5*L+0.5*LR SR=0.5*R+0.5*RR)
It just seems weird that the rear channels (RL/RR) move to side (SL/SR) when 7.1 is selected.
