Hi! I’m planning to watch a TV Series that had an aired order completely messed up. These happen, it’s not an isolated case.
In order to facilitate the binge watching, I thought of setting up a playlist with all the episodes in the correct order. Everything seemed logical and Kodi makes this possible with no problems.
Where I stopped is once I realized that, while accessing the playlist, you don’t get watched status and you don’t get resume points indicated visually.
This happens even if accessing the library normally, in the TV Series entry, you get both watched status and resume points correctly visualized and implemented.
When you are “inside” a playlist you don’t have any visual information regarding the watched status nor about the fact that you have stopped watching a certain episode at a certain point.
While I can understand that just simply playing the playlist could make it start from the beginning, I think that once “inside” it you should get the visual information that are provided in both library and file views. This way it would be possible to use it for a list of video files (in my case a custom order for a TV Series) while keeping track of the point you stopped watching last.
Smart playlists offer all the normal watched/resume points support but don’t allow for reordering (since they are not “proper” playlists but just a call to the database this is understandable).
The above tested on 16.1 with Confluence. Maybe some other skin provides these visual cues? I ask before opening a feature request.
EDIT:
I see this is a really old problem (at least, personally I consider it as such): http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=128149
Is a feature request in order?
