Xiaomi released their new Android TV box recently and we got our hands on one of the units. They want to be part of the set top box market and see if their new device is capable of being part of the cord cutting conversation. There are tons of devices out the such as the Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and of course the Nvidia Shield, a favorite amongst everyone in the community. So why make another box and try to compete with what’s out there? For starters, the Mi Box is coming in at a very competitive price, $69.99 USD. It is capable of doing 4K video and has some decent hardware specs.

It also features HDR (high dynamic range) to make your videos more vibrant and better overall picture quality. On top of that, it is loaded with Android 6.0 which looks really nice. Very similar to the Nvidia Shield and the Google Nexus player. This makes the Mi Box a definite contender in the set-top box world. Check out our video below on our unboxing.
