Hi everyone
I’m glad to see there’s a forum about kodi and hope to find answers to my questions.
I recently came across Kodi, wasn’t aware that it was the new name for XBMC.
I found that you can install addon which all you to operate your box like a satellite box and was wondering if someone could help me on this.
I have a panasonic viera smart tv, the initial though was to install kodi on it but that’s not possible as it looks like something that can only be installed on android or iso based systems.
I have an android box, which is quite slow (bought from ebay) but when installing, it says kodi isn’t compatible. My understanding is that it might be too old and needs an update.
There’s no update for the box if I go in settings.
-My question is whether there are Roms out there for android boxes that are customized as just entertainment boxes(so they only have apps like kodi, some browsing etc, faster than original firmware)
Additionally, can anyone tell me what’s the best setup for kodi, in terms of hardware as well so that I can easily access all channels without the need go through different steps(like you do with your satellite box). I’ve also read someone using amazon fire stick, is that better in terms of performance.
With the current box what I find annoying, other than the fact that i can’t install kodi, is that it’s slow and hard to operate through remote control. I am hoping that if a rom is available, the performance will improve and I can get some sort of touch screen remote control or use smartphones to operate it.
If not then I am open to suggestion about the best approach for this.
PS: I have attached a pic showing the software details about the android box i have.
Thank you in advance.
