Help kodi not working

Please can anyone help I’m trying to install kodi on my Android tablet to put on large screen via Chromecast. I am getting as far as the share to All cast then nothing happens. All cast says there is no media in progress , does anyone know what I am not doing? Or if that can’t be done through Chromecast is there another way I could use kodi with tablet to TV.
