I am using a Samsung Tab A 9.7′ with Kodi Android app to play movies from my computer through local network WiFi (no internet) and it works great, if it works. A lot of the time it will play for a while and then just freeze and then just close the movie. I end up having to push the home screen and close and start Kodi again, skip to where I was and then continue watching. Sometimes it will play through without a problem, other times it will stop working numerous times. I know it’s not the file format, it happens with all the file formats. It could be the WiFi signal, but why would it fluctuate if I am the only one on it. I tried adding the media direct and using Kodi on my computer as a UPnP server. Is there something I can do to make it work better, buffer the howl file ore larger parts of the file ore reduce the quality of the playback… As this is a tablet and I will probably not notice lower quality. Kodi is a great app and it would be great if I can get it to work better.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
