Video -> DP & Audio -> HDMI?

Hi guys,

I am tempted to build a new multi-purpose media box based on Windows 10 and something like gigabyte brix bsceh 3955 with Celeron 3955U. I have legacy AV receiver with HDMI 1.3, which is perfectly fine for all kinds of multi-channel audio, but not so much video anymore. My idea is to use DP->HDMI 2.0 converter to drive Sony 4k TV directly via DP (converted to HDMI 2.0) output of this Intel CPU and at the same time send the multi-channel audio (compressed or LPCM) to the AV receiver via HDMI output of this Intel CPU.

So the question is: should it theoretically work? Will it be possible in Windows to drive the display via DP and then let the Kodi send audio to the HDMI?

Does anyone successfully run something similar with some Intel chip?

Thx for feedback!
