Hi All,
I have Kodi set up on a Fire TV to access a samba share (which is running on a debian based server). I added this source via the Add Source-Windows Network (SMB) function from the Photos/Pictures main menu item. I added the username and the password and hit the remember radio button.
This worked fine. But when I tried to access the share again the password wasn’t remembered and I was prompted to enter the password again. I backed out, received the message that the share couldn’t be accessed, went in again, and the share opened correctly without the need to enter the pw again. I have been able to reproduce this several times.
Now I have seen this behavior before when attempting to access a SMB share from a Linux distro. It seems like the smb share has to be mounted again on the first attempt to access, then its perfectly fine after that and remembers the username and password.
When adding a source, there appears to be an option to add a network location. I am wondering if this is a better option that will resolve this issue?
