I’m trying to tighten up some bad security in my home network, so I’ve added password protection to all of my media smb shares. I use a shared MYSQL db and I’ve been using path substitution between my installs to keep source the same on every Kodi install. It appears that passwords.xml may not be in use any more? I’ve tried having it path substituted in advancedsettings, and I’ve tried with it just being a local file for each Kodi. Anyway I’ve tried it, Kodi doesn’t seem to know the PW to reach the shares in sources.
Is passwords.xml still in use? Are share passwords stored somewhere else?
