Hi,
I run a shared MySQL library setup where Windows and Android clients are connected to a central MySQL database (on Linux). All clients are on Kodi 17 – Beta 6. Everything worked well for Kodi16. But Kodi 17 broke it.
Kodi doesn’t even start to the start screen an the Android device. Android aborts the start and states in a message that the app Kodi was closed. As soon as the MySQL access is removed from advancedsettings.xml everything works as expected.
Funny enough my former Android device (32Bit) running on Lollipop 5.1 broke and got replaced by a new Marshmallow media player (64Bit). Both showed the same behavior therefore it should be pretty safe to assume that this is not a local problem in my installation or with my device.
There’s one question to the developers. Hope you read this. I’m aware that this is an open source software and I love it very, very much but it makes me really worry that I filed 2 Issues in the Bugtracker (Issue #1 and Issue #2) and I got only one question for additional information and nothing more. No reply, nothing and the Issue #1 was opened two months ago. I would be even grateful for assistance how to get more information about this issue by myself. For me it looks like this function is almost abandoned.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance.
