I have an Nvidia Shield TV. Latest official firmware, version 3.3 which equates to Android 6.0. I run Kodi for video and use an app SB Player for music. SB player makes the shield a playback device for my squeezebox server.
Anyway, on to the bug. Sometimes when I play a video in Kodi, the video will start playing but the audio will be whatever song was queued up on squeezebox.. and all the other squeezebox players that are also on start playing. This has caused a few funny moments where I try to watch TV in the living room and very loud music starts playing, including in the bedroom, which scares and wakes up my wife.
SB player runs continuously in the background, so I can just start playing music without having to start the app every time. I’m thinking the problem is more of an Android bug than a Kodi bug. I also have an android based MP3 player. I use Spotify, cloud player for local music, and pocketcasts for podcasts on that device. It has a hardware play button, and it’s a mystery which audio app will actually start playing when you press it. This is one of the reasons I’m thinking the Kodi/SB player bug is an android problem.
I’ve been running the Kodi 17 betas, now on RC 1. The shield had firmware update few months ago, can’t recall if this started after that update. I do know that this wasn’t a problem when I first got the shield about 6 months ago.
Again, I’m thinking this is an Android bug, but I thought I’d post here to see what others thought.
