Empty home screen

Hello, a few weeks ago I purchased Raspberry Pi 3 (LibreELEC RPI2). It had been working wonderfully until yesterday. When I turned it on, it loaded normally but the home screen was completely blank. Not a single button, just the wallpaper. To turn it off, I have to uplug it. Any ideas what went wrong? I searched a lot for the solution but no luck. I am not a computer expert and would really appreciate a reply. Thanks!!!
