Amazon Fire TV, movies stop on their own

I originally posted in this thread before I realized it was already marked “Solved”.

When I am watching a movie on Kodi 16.1, it will usually just stop somewhere in the middle of the movie and the screen goes black. I press a button on the remote and I’m back in the Kodi menu and can select to resume the movie and I continue to watch with no further problems. It never happens more than once per movie but it usually happens to every movie I watch (I do remember getting through a couple of movies with no problem at all…can’t recall which).

I am using the latest Amazon Fire TV. Had the original Firestick and never had a problem (other than it was very slow). New Fire TV works great other than I get this intermittent closing out of the video. All movies are stored on my NAS and don’t have a problem if I run Kodi on my computer and watch a movie. Seems to be a problem specific to the Fire TV.

I thought it might be the Fire TV is going to sleep or something. I side-loaded Wake-Lock Power Manager (see this thread) but that didn’t help. Fire TV never went to sleep but my movie-stopping problem persisted. Problem doesn’t occur with any other source or app…just Kodi.

Fire TV has latest update and problem was same before and after update. At one point did a total reset of Fire TV but that didn’t help. I’m not rooted. I followed these instructions which uses Apps2Fire: HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_on_Fire_TV (wiki)

Here is a link to my debug log: http://pastebin.com/6aPnD8RQ
Take a look near the bottom at time 15:26:07 which is right when the movie stopped on its own. Reading through the log it seems the movie is indeed stopping but I can’t find an explanation as to why. Any help appreciated.
