I’m not trying to bring negativity, rather maybe some focus as to what matters to a lot of people.
I think we can all agree that 4k is the next “thing” everyone will be using in regard to digital video. A lot of us are already. To have a decent i7 Windows machine with a GTX 960 video card and to not be able to playback 4k smoothly is VERY frustrating. It’s been discussed in great length in the forum and largely ignored by the devs. It’s a known issue, yet 17 is considered done without this support in its Windows branch?
None of us want to hear about how we can use another branch and that will work out. There are reasons we have Windows (driver availability and integration included) and to swap out hardware or renew for something that should and COULD just work from a software patch doesn’t make sense.
Is Windows basically being slowly abandoned? Seems to me it is.
