XBMC Gotham – Blast, I’m in the past

You know that feeling you get when you’re about to hit “upgrade” and you KNOW it’s a mistake but you can’t help yourself?

I have an old LXLE 64bit box that I built my wife some time ago out of spare parts. XBMC Eden has been on it for years, and I thought, “Why not upgrade?” So I installed the last supported version for Precise, Helix, and boom!. XBMC Eden worked on it quite nicely. Gotham probably would too. Kodi Helix and later just crash. Once I found the source code (after a lot of searching), I tried building from source, but I never got beyond ./configure, make, make install with that sort of thing. These files don’t have a ./configure. If that doesn’t work, I’m lost. I tried reading the autoconf stuff I found on Gurgle, but I guess it’s beyond me.

So the question: Where can I find a PPA for Ubuntu (LXLE’s a fork) or a deb file or SOMETHING I can just click on 64bit Precise XBMC Eden – Gotham and hit “install now”?

Failing that, can someone just please provide me copy/paste commands and dependencies I need for autoconf to make some sense out of the source code?
