Audio Passthrough

I have a question about the audio pass-through setting in Kodi. I have two Amazon Fire TV Sticks on two identical TVs: one TV is hooked up to a soundbar (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BD7…UTF8&psc=1) while the other is hooked up to a receiver that can decode Dolby Digital, DTS, etc. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0077V…F8&psc=1).

Obviously, I want the receiver to decode Dolby Digital/DTS so I assume I want to enable pass-through on the TV hooked up to the receiver. How about the TV hooked up to the soundbar? Is there any (dis)advantage to enabling pass-through on that TV?

Lastly, both TVs have settings for Digital Audio Output with options for PCM and Bitstream. Which setting should I use on either TV? Does this matter?

Thanks!
