Streaming issues

I’ve recently downloaded Kodi 17.1 Krypton on the fire stick. Since downloading I haven’t been able to successfully stream as it will buffer for longer than it plays. I tried to download a Wizard to try fix the problem but they say I’m using an unstable version – is this the reason why I can’t stream properly and if so how to I change to a stable version?
