This may sound a little crazy, but here goes…
I am thinking about running Kodi inside an Android emulator on Windows. This one – https://www.bignox.com
What do you think of this? Is anyone doing it?
Before you say something like why in the world would you do that, here’s why…
I have a high-end Intel NUC with 16 GB RAM. I also have a NVIDIA Shield. The Shield runs Kodi well, and now that I have worked out a few kinks, things seem to be very good overall. However, I have this high-end NUC just sitting here collecting dust. So, you say why don’t I just run Windows and Kodi on there…well, I do need Android for one other thing, and I’d really like to have everything in a single place I can control easily with my remote. But, what I really want to know is… This Nox is supposed to be quite good for performance. I have not actually tried Kodi through it yet, though. Considering the NUC has 16 GB RAM, etc….do you think it will indeed offer better performance than the Shield? I wonder just because of the emulation. Even though it may be very good…it’s still emulated. And even with more powerful hardware, I wonder if the Shield would still do better. Does anyone have experience with this?
