Movie plays behind screen

Movie plays behind the guide. You can hear it playing but can’t move the guide to see the movie. I have rebooted and also cleared cache etc. I tried using the remote u download to try and click on play at the bottom of the screen but it’s like it freezes the screen so u can’t navigate around the screen.
