Kodi as a window on Ubuntu 16.04

Does anyone know if it’s possible to have Kodi as a window.
I’m running Gnome and would like to be able to minimise Kodi as I can with say Mozilla or Transmission.
At the moment I can only exit Kodi and I then have to open it again which causes it to check for new content. Not a big deal
