Search not Working

I am using Kodi 17.1 on my Amazon Firestick.
Just a couple of days ago I was able to do a search for lets say a particular TV show or subject and I would get a return back after using the search function.
As of yesterday, it seems the search function is no longer working. I even did a search for something that I knew was definitely available and still the search function came back with nothing.
It seems as if the search just “crashes” and goes back to the previous screen as well.
Is there a fix ??
