Updated smart TV to android 11 Kodi is version 21, new controller detected

Recently updated smart TV to android 11 and Kodi is version 21. I get a message telling me new controller detected but I am unable to use my remote within the app and cannot operate Kodi, this only happened since updating my TV. Any help?
