This is for Dolby Atmos/TrueHD.
Until now, the situation in Kodi is that .mka files are both used for audiobook chapters and for Dolby Atmos audio files. I’ve found a preferable solution for Dolby Atmos which is to rip it as .mp4 from the Blu-ray (for example with DVDFab) and then demux the audio to .mlp with avidemuxer. The resultiing .mlp files are much smaller than their .mka counterparts but unfortunately support in Kodi seems to be missing. VLC can decode it without a hitch and foobar2000 can decode it via thie DVDA decoder plugin. Would it be possible to add MLP support to Kodi?
@AlwinEsch You already adapted the SACD plugin from the same author, maybe you could do the same for the DVDA decoder?
