Some random questions about tweaking Kodi on RPi

There are a couple of things about my Kodi setup under Raspberry Pi OS that are bugging me so I’m putting them together here.

1. The sound system. Every time I run an upgrade something changes so it’s hard to make a precise description. The default sound system has changed from pulseaudio to pipewire, and I have just followed. I don’t mind switching back to pulseaudio or even to ALSA but I expect pain along the way so looking for the simplest solution. What I want (at least to start with) and have struggled to make work is:
    – sound to be sent to all available devices, but at a minimum to the HDMI and USB ports. At present I have to manually switch between them using the settings dialog, and as of the last upgrade, reboot the RPi (!) to make it work.
    – sound to USB devices to keep original sampling rate. At present, try what I might, i can’t get the output sampling rate to anything other than 48k, even though 99% of my listening is 44.1k.

2. Waking up the TV… When i use Kodi as a music player I operate it remotely and want my TV to stay turned off, instead of waking every time I play a new track. Is there some way to make Kodi go dark?
