Kodi nvidia HDR under linux

Recently got my ancient HTPC back from my sister AMD Phenon II x4 945 and thinking of jamming in the RTX 2060 I have laying on my desk in it.  Thinking of setting up Arch linux on it with GBM and the nvdec to va-api conversion.

Found this post here where he said they had it working in wayland and GBM support was recently added

nvdec to va-api conversion

https://github.com/elFarto/nvidia-vaapi-driver

only thing might have to jump out h.264 as that will not work and need to run on CPU assuming this potato can run it lol.

I know this amount of pain would probably never be recommended but has anyone tried it?
Guess I could also try subbing a nvdec compatible player like mpv if acceleration is the only hangup.
Guess can always go KDE plasma if GBM standalone blows up.
Not seeing much talk about x86 builds using nvidia as most common reply is don’t.
