Dolby Vision newby question

Hi all – forgive my ignorance. Some Dolby Vision/HDR 10 files show up purple, some stutter/constantly buffer. Is there a way in Kodi that I can play these files? I know there’s tons of Dolby Vision threads, so it’s easy to get lost in the forest, so to speak. Could someone kindly point me in the right direction as far as which thread to look at? Thanks!
