I am writing here because you(Kodi) are the only one left and I am more than sure that you can help me and help others with a similar problem to mine.
It all started when I bought my first oled…the picture was great, but when the picture starts moving( all muvies în 24p and 25p), everything goes wrong. I just can’t watch a movie that is 24p or 25p…the picture jerks and it gives me a feeling of sick.
I wrote both to the manufacturers and on different forums, some don’t see this stutter (Lucky ones), others say it’s normal. On youtube, the stutter part is treated as a joke. Although all OLED TVs suffer from this problem. Rtings has a section dedicated to this issue and has given some incredible small oled tv scores for 24p and 25p. I don’t get into the controversy of why and how it happens…obviously everyone knows and nobody wants to fix this situation, the quick response of the screen would be responsible, and the producers’ solution is that motion interpolation that destroys the film and adds artifacts.
Would you please add to the video or video player a settings, when it detects 24p or 25p content, to the frame matching setting, an option to add blurr, or blurr between frames…they say this is missing from oled to have perfect motion for movies.
My opinion why I think this blurr would solve the problem, I have an older TV (LCD) that has a slower response and that blurr creates a great cinematic picture no stutter at all. Please, maybe you can introduce this blurr…it’s something if I can say like in games where the background image is slightly blurred to make the movement as natural as possible.
I am waiting for an answer from you and yes, I would pay for something like that, plus there is no application on the market that deals with this problem.
Thx!
