Goal: Not losing any settings, but keeping the backup size as small as possible.
I will tell you how I do it and hope someone can clarify whether that actually works.
- I never backup .kodi/userdata/Thumbnails
- I never backup .kodi/userdata/Database/Textures13.db – according to my understanding it would lead to problems backing up this file when not backing up the thumbnails folder.
- I never backup .kodi/addons/ – according to my understanding I can just re-download the addons. Addon settings are stored in .kodi/userdata/addon_data/.
