Dear Kodi specialists,
Hopefully I post my question in the right part of this forum, if not, please correct me!
First of all, I adore the Kodi application and for me there's no other good mediaplayer as Kodi, but the OS in which Kodi runs is a problem...
I had a Philips Android TV, sucks for stability. Bought another TV with external mediaplayer with Kodi.
I first tried Raspberry Pi 3. Stability is OK, but no 4K. Bought a HiMedia Q5. Does not work well. Bought a nVidia Shield, but several issues with the remote, crashes etc... .
So one "red line": except of the Raspberry, they all run on Android. Last year I've always had troubles after updates with my Android Smartphones, so I'm really fed up with Android.
I'm looking for a non-Android, standalone mediaplayer. It must be possible to install Kodi on it and it must support 4K HDR, HDMI CEC and all the existing audioformats. Last, but not least: it has to run smootly everyday without crashes. When I switch it on, it has to work, not to crash, everyday of the week.
I don't care if it costs €1000, when it works stable everyday, always, it's worth it.
What do I have to buy?
Thanks!
Gert
