Code: bought this OTT TV box last year and haven't been able to use it since. Every time I open kodi it quickly boots me out back to the OTT TV Box home page.  please help. Jaime

After updating to 17, any stream I play stops after about 20 minutes and I have to restart stream–it usually starts where it stopped but it is irritating. I thought it might be a problem with buffering so I increased my cache size to 1/3 of my RAM (I have an Android box–MEMOBOX MX MAX Android 5.1 Smart TV BOX 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM). Didn’t help. Anybody else having this problem?

Really frustrating but every time I watch a tv programme it pauses or the pixels start to break up. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? apart from not watching anything

I am taking issue with something I saw yesterday. I was in the Mall in Reno NV, (The Only One). There was a Kiosk Stand selling what is called a Dragon Box. They have a website and promote re-sellers.

The stand said stop by and see if you qualify, (Really? A free and Open Source). They had 3 TV screens going and they were selling pre-loaded PRE 17.1 version loads, (16.1), for $350 each with additional costs for upgrades and warranties. They are claiming to be the provider of the service and charging for everything they can get away with.

I am totally pissed because these are the Jerks that ruin everything for others because of greed... Is there anything that can be done?

I have been with KODI, (XBMC), from the start and I have to admit that I have friends and family get a device and I load and configure for them. I do not charge and any help that they need is provided from me for FREE. I have 3 dozen people at least that rely upon me. I primarily provide to friends and family in their senior years that cannot afford the criminal fees for television services. To me it is the window to their world and I help keep them current and their minds active.

These JERKS ruin things that help people in the name of the almighty dollar.

I'm currently looking and setting up kodi 18 nightly to see what it's like. When I setup simple iptv it works great but when I reboot up kodi it comes up with a message saying it's not compatable. What's happening with it?

just registered here after using kodi for a while, thanks to all of you for your help.


So I'm running a Rpi 3 with Kernel 4.9 arch and the yaourt package kodi-rbp (kodi 17.1
Quite recently I changed my TV signal to a rtmp stream and now use IPTV simple.
This works quite well but some channels have audio sync problems.

I've found this issue from last year already and my problem should be fixed by now (thanks popcornmix! I love omxplayer, did so many projects already!!), but it's obviously not.

So I tried to look for running processes, but found no omxplayer running.
Now I decided to ask here before I continue. I'm not sure what that means - is Kodi not even using omxplayer?
I disabled mmal in the kodi settings (unchecked the use hardware acceleration for mmal box)

Now I see 2 options;

• Kodi doesn't use omxplayer
• My omxplayer is out of date
  

When looking for an installed omxplayer, I didn't find it.
That's why I suspect my Kodi not use omxplayer at all, although I'm not sure if it's maybe compiled into kodi (but why would you do that? serious question!)

So now I just installed omxplayer with pacman, opened an RTMP stream directly from the terminal and voilà - the audio is sync!
But when I start kodi again, play the same stream - the problem persists.

That's where I am stuck - is Kodi using an integrated omxplayer? Is it not using omxplayer at all?
Can I enforce it? Is the package kodi-rbp maybe wrongly compiled, with omxplayer disabled?
How can I fix that?
