after upgrading to kodi version 17 and 17.1 sometimes when I an playing video from hard disk (not using streaming often) the video is choppy. The problem does not appear on version 16 or lower. After searching around I believe the problem is that version 17 is much heavier than previous versions of Kodi but I am not sure. My hardware/software is the following:

CPU: Intel i3 2100T
RAM: 4GB (2 x 2GB)
HDD:128 GB SSD drive
GPU: ATI Radeon™ HD 5450 Graphics
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

Can someone confirm/deny whether my hardware is enough to run Kodi 17?

Also can someone provide support to fix my problem if my hard is enough?

after upgrading to kodi version 17 and 17.1 sometimes when I an playing video from hard disk (not using streaming often) the video is choppy. The problem does not appear on version 16 or lower. After searching around I believe the problem is that version 17 is much heavier than previous versions of Kodi but I am not sure. My hardware/software is the following:

Hey guys,

Looking for advice on getting my kodi UI to run more smoothly. Here is a rundown of my hardware:

ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+
AMD A6-6400K Richland
Sandisk Ultra II 120GB  system disk
2x 8gb Seagate HDD  media storage
4gb DDR3 1333 MHz RAM (don’t remember what kind, just had it lying around)
Windows 10
Kodi Krypton RC 2

So here’s the thing, videos all play smoothly, HD MKV and blu-ray ISO’s no problem. It’s just that the UI is a bit jerky, animations moving in and out of menus isn’t as smooth as I would like, scrolling through movie library isn’t super smooth. Is there one piece in my system that could use a relatively inexpensive upgrade to smooth out the UI? It’s always been like this for the past few years I’ve been using my HTPC, just getting around to trying to address it.
