Hello. While I am not a cable cutter at this time, I have been using Kodi primary for my kids movies. They have a ton of DVDs and to keep discs from always laying around the house, I put them all on a network drive. I have been using a Fire Stick (not the newest one) and I love the layout of Kodi but the stick lags. The menus are slow and it just seems slow. I read the sticky but am still confused. I think something like the NVIDIA Shield is an overkill for what I am going to use it for and don't want to spend a lot. Would upgrading to the regular Fire TV box make a big difference? Or anything else around that $100 price range any better than the Fire TV? Maybe I will check out the live TV features eventually but for now it is just the movies. I also want a wired ethernet port. i need some help getting a Trendnet TU3-ETG to work.

I use:
- Raspberry PI model B
- Kodi 17
- TU3-ETG USB to Ethernet Adapter
- NAS WD Sharespace


Kodi works fine without TU3-ETG. The only Problem is streaming large Videos from nas (the integrated ethernet in raspberry is to slow).

So i tried TU3-ETG ... and Kodi seems to recognize the adapter.

Problem:

I can't get files from nas.
Kodi plays all trailers from youtube without any problems using TU3-ETG ... but when i try to connect to my nas using nfs i get no file-listing.

Networksettings in kodi shows IP-Adresse, DNS, ... everthing looks fine.
If i try to connect to my nas using filemanager ... filemanager finds my nas but i can't ... but i only can't navigate folders.

I'm no linux-crack ... so maybe someone can tell me what i can do.
