I can’t get Kodi to start up. It shows the splash screen then the blue bubbly background and then crashes out. I’ve never posted here before but I’ll try to follow the rules.

3.I Believe it’s Kodi V16.1 (downloaded from software center)
4. Ubuntu 16.04.1
5. X86_64, Intel Core i3-6100 CPU @ 3.70GHz × 4, Intel HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2)
6. I installed originally through the terminal and that worked for a few weeks. I tried to uninstall and reinstall through the software center in Linux but that still crashes.
7. 2:16.1~git20160425.1001-final-0xenial
8. I’ve done my best to purge all the old data after I’ve uninstalled Kodi, so it should be a clean install and it still crashes.
9. As soon as I open Kodi, I get the splash screen and then a pretty immediate crash and window close.
I’m not sure what 10 and 11 mean. I hope this is enough info to help. I’m not very experienced with Linux and I’ve used google to hash out any problems I’ve had so far but I can’t find any help with this problem. Any insight you could provide would be appreciated.
