Is there a method using edit decision lists to skip existing chapters?
I’ve always had to make the edit decision list frame specific or time specific which is a bit time consuming.
I have a series with shows that have chapters/bookmarks already set as part of the video file. They follow the same format of:
Chapter 1 – Prolog
Chapter 2 – Intro
Chapter 3 – Part A
Chapter 4 – Part B
Chapter 5 – Outro
Chapter 6 – Preview of next episode.
Each of the chapters except the intro and outro can vary by several seconds to a minute from episode to episode. So is there a method to write an edit decision list that I can have it it skip Chapter 2 and Chapter 5 instead of having to include the start and finish time?
A second quick question or possible suggestion. Does there exist a method of using a single text file that contains all of the edl’s for that series? Instead of creating a separate edl or txt file for each show, can we make like a manifest containing all edits?
