Took the plunge and updated to Kodi 17 on a fresh install.
Everything runs smoothly until I try playing some video formats. The H264 container works perfectly but trying SD or HD xvids etc with hardware decoding on is extremely choppy. I have the following on
Mediacodec Surface ON
Allow hardware acceleration > Mediacodec ON
With kodi changing the resolution to match the video.
If I turn them both off everything runs as it should.
I have a large library of mixed codec films and TV and this would probably effect at least a third of the titles. I didn’t notice this issue on Jarvis 16.1 and although turning H/W acceleration off is an option the CPU overhead is then quite extensive.
Anyone else having the same problems ?
