I know this is an old issue but not found a satisfactory answer. Also I’m a total newb when it comes to using RPi and Kodi.
I’m trying to connect my videos to my home windows smb network. When I first tried to connect I was prompted for a user name and password – I entered this and got ‘Operation not permitted’.
I think I may have put a typo in but Kodi will not give me another attempt, I just get ‘operation not permitted’ every time now.
I have read stuff about accessing the source.xml file and editing the credentials there. Not sure how to do that though.
Does anyone have any thoughts on a fix?
Would be much appreciated 
p.s. I have managed to get other computers access to this network location so I know its setup ok.
