Kodi wont work on 4k tv

we have been using kodi on amazon firestick and this worked fine on old tv, now we have a samsung 4k smart tv and kodi will not work anymore, u can navigate through menus but as soon as you try to watch movie it kicks u off, we have tried to re do firestick and kodi and disconnected tv from internet and nothing works, can anyone help. Sorry if posted on wrong section
